playing pirates with grampa
![]() |
| The treasure map Grampa drew. |
When I sent Grandma a text to see how she and Kaemon Ze were doing, she responded:
"He's just finishing up lunch! He and Grampa played pirates earlier. Making up songs, burying treasure, sword play and marching. Sooo sweet!"
He is such a lucky boy to have grandparents that play with him like this - get on the floor; go on an imaginative adventure; play, play play! I feel lucky too!

sweet time spent with gumpapa and roc roc!
Kaemon Ze's grandparents, Gumpapa and Roc Roc are here this week for a family wedding. They got to spend the day together: walks, naps, skipping, shopping, and yes...chocolate ice cream! What a lucky guy. Roc Roc gushed at what a nice boy he is...I beamed with pride. :)

he's officially in aikido class
After we observed two Aikido classes, I registered him to continue to take the classes. He's the youngest in the class (3 3/4 years old), but not the smallest. There's a 5 1/2 year old boy who is very small for his age, though his attention span is about that of Kaemon Ze's. Heh. At one point, Kaemon Ze was reiterating the concept of score-keeping (showing he understood that the Sensei was keeping score of him vs. the kids; Kaemon Ze also started to explain the concept of how one plus one equals two to the Sensei and the mom nearest me leaned over and said, "Wow...he's really smart." I sorta beamed. :) Later, he surprised all of us...kids and parents alike, when he was the only one to remember the "magic word" the kids could you to unfreeze each other if the Sensei tagged them in a game of "Freeze Tag." It's sounds like "say-zon" but I don't know how it's spelled. I'm hoping to post videos from today...they are pretty cute. Today he tried to roll backwards for the first time in his life. He actually got it a few times, too. :) That's him in the stripped shirt. He also got the concept of sitting on his heels rather than his knees. :)
In this video, he actually does the backroll, but out-of-turn and the Sensei did not see it. He keeps trying to tell the Sensei that he did one, but again, Kaemon Ze is talking not listening, so he's not being heard. . :)
love love love, from elayna
I sent photos of Kaemon Ze to his sweet friend, Elayna, who sent him this reply.
