circle o' berries
Last year we saw this wonderful circle of berries on a garden tour.It made so much sense to us - especially as a space-saver, but we also liked the look of it.
Our marionberry plant yields just enough to pick-and-eat (not enough for making jam).
In March, while the plant was still mostly dormant, we wrangled it into a circle.
It's starting to grow leaves. I imagine we'll have to wait a year or two before it's fuller. We're thinking of planting another type of berry next to the marionberry. Just not sure which berry, yet. We already have two raspberry plants. Maybe a loganberry?
Photo taken: 4/12/11 showing more growth.

a full, full sunday
Hoping to find a moose (a "nice moose") or at least see at dear at great-uncle Don's house...
All we found were the neighbor's chickens. Nice coop, eh?
Good ol' Uncle Don. :)I like to remind him as often as I can that I am his favorite niece.
Arleen, Don, and Kaemon Ze soak up some sun.
Weeeeeeeee fun with Daddy!
Oh - and we found a swing, too!
Lunch rolled right past JoyBoy's nap time (and Daddy's too?).
Arleen has a stash of oh-so-cool old-school toys.
This is Arleen's scooter from when she was 7 years old. Don recently took it, and her bike (below) apart to refurbish them. The "ice box" is a dandy, too!

Arleen has a huge box of REAL metal antique toy trucks that are in amazing condition after having been through her three boys.

She has this wonderful old stove, too.
And yes, the record player does work!
Powerpoint, schmower point!
The grand-daddy to the View Master.
Don and Arleen had to head out to a memorial service and Don asked me to take a photo of them.
After getting snap-happy, Don exclaimed, "Holy Mackerel ...I thought you were going to take ONE photo."
Next stop: the great-grandparents!
A sweet moment with Great-Grandpa Marston.
We wore him out again. This boy needs a nap!
On the way home, we decided rather spontaneously, to stop off at the Tulip Farm. The weather was beckoning and JoyBoy was up for some running around.

Wiped him out again. He fell asleep in the car and is down for the night!
