more art today

We got out the paints this morning and of course...that means finding a toy to paint with, right?

A Lizard Brush.

The finished piece was super cool - though I did not get a final photo (maybe Daddy did?). Kaemon Ze gave the painting to his buddy Finn. :)

Yum orange-soaked vodka. Doesn't it look amazing? My Whimsy Guy continues his exploration in distillery and mixology.|
I brought him a dozen red roses (in the background)
-- just because I love him so. :)

A date night! A date night!
Albeit a short one - it's a date night!

My cousin sent me a gift certificate to a local wine bar for my birthday -- last year! Thank goodness we got to use it - it was a lovely time spent.

mama day

I love love my "Mama Day" with my boy.
After eating some yummy green olives with pits, he decided he needs to plant the seeds to grow an olive tree.
Note that he's wearing my shoes...

Now...on to arts and crafts!
Such concentration as he uses his scissors.

card + family love

JoyBoy got a card in the mail from his friend Elayna. He loves to get mail!

Elayna sent him a page she colored. She is a month younger than Kaemon Ze and knows how to write her name (and "KZ"); she knows how to write "I *heart* U; and she draws really good pictures. Elayna is so talented and interested in many things! I am way impressed with the letters and drawings she sends to him. Kaemon Ze isn't much interested in his letters or numbers yet. We point out letters and numbers to him in many things we do / see / and read with him. Well...at least he says "coo me" after each burb he forces out. Such a boy. :)

Kaemon Ze's Gumpapa and Uncle Ben came to town for a quick visit with their extended families here.

My Whimsy Guy with his grandma.

Grandma and Uncle Ben. (She's in focus in this shot; he's in focus on the one below...but not at the same time.)

 Grandma and her sister.

Kaemon Ze and his Great-Aunt Laurie. She gave him his first silly putty. He's been having a lot of fun with it!

rain, sun, hail, sun, snow, wind, and sun

One happy kid...in 30-40 mph wind (and temps in the same range)!
A jacket son? "No!"

You can't see from this photo, but this private property we hiked to has many large-scale sculptures, including several dragons (and a huge live-in lighthouse). This was super cool for JoyBoy as he had told the four of us that he had had a dream about a blue dragon last night. Then, he manifests one! Unfortunately, he was not able to go see the sculptures and had a short cry over that disappointment. Fortunately, he was not done manifesting: later in the evening, his Great Auntie Laurie gave him a backpack with books...including one that was a story about a, yes you guessed it: a blue dragon. Tonight I'm going to ask him to dream about us winning a $288,000,000 lotto!

I love this shot!

(See the smudge on my lens? Sheesh.)
Hail piles up on the deck of the oyster shop.

The nice proprietor opens an oyster for a curious young customer.

Taking a smell...then passing it to Daddy to eat. Heh.

Shall we do this with our house when we reside it? Heh.

44 degrees and butt-nekkid at the beach

Unabashed JOY.

JoyBoy took a quick moment to warm up,
then he was off again to run and laugh with the angels
in this glorious sunset!

He laughed and laughed (...and didn't turn blue)!
Love on the Beach, 2012.

Homemade playdough, anyone?

Doesn't this just epitomize a warm,
loving, cuddly, winter-beach vacation?

lion chases tiger

Daddy Day!
Note the leopards on the floor...feasting on a giraffe.
What can I say?

been noticing...

Have you been noticing double digits when you look at your clock?
Me too...for a while now.
I thought it'd be fun to capture the time on the phone each time I notice.

sweet saturdays

I wish our Saturdays would last all week!

Making play-dough with daddy.
JoyBoy's art.
Yes, making play-dough in his birthday suit. I think he spend 90% of the weekend "really naked" as he calls it.

Here's my whimsy guy making an incredibly-tasty habanero margarita!
It is so good, we gave it a name: "Haba Mama (TM)." :)

Making pizza for dinner. We spend a lot of the day in the kitchen. :)
