he forgot to bring his money...

JoyBoy forgot to bring his spending money on our outing today.
Once he got over the disappointment of that realization,
he thoroughly enjoying touching (what felt like) every toy in the store. :)

exploring a rain cloud!

experimenting with river flows and sand...

look what joyboy got to do!

Lucky kid!
This is the first activity he did in his second science class.

first time with a hot glue gun!

...we had two hours to play before science class started...so JoyBoy got busy playing!

There was a craft/build room where kids could create whatever inspired them. Here, on display, someone built a "light saber store."

I think that display inspired Kaemon Ze to build the Star Wars Death Star, along with Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader, each with their light sabers.

This was the first time Kaemon Ze used a glue gun. A little nerve-wracking for me, but it was instant-fun-making!

big john pushes

A first!
Daddy maxed out the swing
when Kaemon Ze asked for
"Big John Pushes,"
(a tip o' the hat to his Uncle John who pushes hard and high!).

So yes, his daddy was pushing him super high, then running to the side to get the shot. Looks like JoyBoy was having a B L A S T !

observing aikido again

Who is paying full-attention? Yep, the big kid. :)

This is the second time he's observed the class. Both times, he watched with excitement and when it got to be too much fun to miss out, he joined in the class. The sensei is awesome with the kids. He makes the kids laugh and makes us parents laugh. In this photo, Kaemon Ze hasn't grasped the concept of sitting on his knees...which makes me smile.

building and creating with his friend

built a carport

his first science class!

JoyBoy started his first science class today - it's a totally hands-on, get messy, exploratory class...it was AWESOME! Can you believe today's theme just happens to be his favorite thing in the world?? DINOSAURS!!

JoyBoy makes imprints with the paint and later, he dipped the dinosaur's feet into the paint and made little tracks.

The class is set up with several different stations for kids to explore a variety of things. Here, he's cracking open a geode to see what's inside (it was a small plastic frog).

Let's explore lava!

Playing with the dinosaurs at the awesome volcano!

Quick diversion to investigate fossilized foot prints.

Now...on to making lava! Gotta add some color....

Mix it all together...

Now pour it into the volcano and watch it run down the mountain side. Look out dinosaurs!

What a fun class!
