at the zoo with dinos and gumpapa!

Kaemon Ze meets a dinosaur for the first time!

"Bye bye dino."
Checking out the dinosaurs...

This one has a fish in his mouth...and he spits water at people. Good thing Gumpapa has Kaemon Ze to protect him!

I love the scale of this... really shows how large the dinosaurs are...

Look out, Kaemon Ze!

The dinosaurs are animated so they move and make all kinds of noises. Kaemon Ze would hold up his little dinosaur and tell the big ones, "eat it? Eat it, dino?"

Damn paparazzi.

I love this shot of Gumpapa... it's so, "Darwin."

Kaemon Ze would not let Gumpapa play on his bongo... "it's MINE... thisisMINE!" Gumpapa had to go find his own bongo. ;)

Ahhh... the bat cave... such a good opportunity for reflection (or checking one's camera settings...)

Watching the bats poo and pee...

Don't blame him... I made him do it. :D

At the petting zoo, Kaemon Ze made a point (a goal?) to touch/pet every single goat...there must have been 10. :)

This one is a sneak-thief. He almost stole the hankey from my back pocket. :)

The first time he's ever met a goat. :)

REEEEEEAAAAACHHHH!!!!

He made it!

...with a little ingenuity.

One of my favorites: nekkid mole rats.

Watching the naked mole rats with Roxi.

A BIG train! A first for Kaemon Ze!

Riding the train...all the wonder.

We didn't get to choose our cabin mates. :D

Happy fam. :)

101001 fun doings in the pm

Later in the evening, we visited Chris at his co-gallery showing.

Not sure who the artist is on these (above and below)...

If you create it, frame it, and get it in a gallery... it's art, right?

We learned if you go early, it seems to be "family time" at the gallery. :)

And of course, Kaemon Ze's dinosaurs made an appearance...

These are Chris Haberman's works... it's the first time I've seen him employ 3D...

Hanging with Chris. :)

101001 afternoon fun

Friday afternoon we had a picnic in the park with Gumpapa and Roxi. Kaemon Ze at a little, but mostly he ran and played. :) Next: the Rose Garden. Of course, I told him the "water is just for looking" and when I returned, he was on his belly with Daddy, playing dinosaurs in the water. Heh. I guess I was wrong about the water...

Where's Waldo? Can you spy Kaemon Ze?
Kaemon Ze insisted on holding Gumpapa's hand, "Gumpa's hand."

Pretty views.
While attempting to clean the teeth of this temporal art piece, Roxanne lost an arm.

nosey man

This morning I offered Kaemon Ze a tissue (refer to photo above) and he said "no." When I told him he could take his own tissue out of the box, he responded by saying, "I don't choose to." Well...allrightythen!

We've been asking him to use his words and he is not disappointing. He's been saying, "I like it" lately and this week he pulled out, "I don't like it." When he came back from his morning bike ride with Daddy, Gumpapa, and Roxi, I asked him about the fountain. "Leaf! In da water. I picked it up." It's amazing to be able to have conversations with him. :)

He just opened the screen door and went out on his own. It's the first time he figured out the door. Guess I'd better go see if he's kissing any more slugs or worms. :)

101001 fun doings in the am

Early morning bike ride to Voodoo Doughnuts. :)

All set to go! I opted to go to the gym. :)

Sweet coupling. ;)

At their destination: VooDoo Doughnuts. Yum!
